Happy Sunday! ๐ŸŒบ

Itโ€™s hard to believe that we are half-way through the year. It seriously feels like it was just yesterday that we were falling asleep way before the ball dropped. Or maybe that was just me. At the halfway point of the year, I like to take some time to look at where I am in life and if Iโ€™ve made progress on the things I was hoping to accomplish this year, or if some of those things donโ€™t seem to have the same importance that they once did. This year, Iโ€™ve been really trying to be intentional about the happiness and the joy I want to have in my life.

Have I been successful so far? I think so. And I also feel ready to push those boundaries even more as I reach for even more happiness and joy. I was recently interviewed for an article in the NY Times (read below) about what the pursuit of happiness looks like for different people. After doing the interview, one thing that stood out to me was how clear my pursuit of happiness is at this point of my life. It wasnโ€™t always like that for me. Sure I did things that made me happy, but now I feel like the current path is clear and I just need to stay on the road and do those things that make me happy. Time with family and friends, traveling, learning new things, staying curious, good books, choosing to remain single, and of course, BTS.

What does happiness mean to you? I think that people have different definitions of happiness, and the things they do to make them happy. I also think that there are people who arenโ€™t even clear about what brings them happiness. If thatโ€™s you, take some time to think about it. When was the last time you felt truly happy? What were you doing? Who were you with? How can you take the big happy moments and incorporate aspects of it into smaller, everyday happy moments? I realize that there are time when life is hard and we struggle to find those things that bring us joy. I also think that even, and especially, when things are hard, thatโ€™s when we need to push harder in our pursuit of happiness. No one is going to hand it to us.

I truly hope that you take the time to pursue more happiness in your life. We all deserve to be happy. If youโ€™re open to it, I would love to hear from you about what youโ€™re doing to bring more happiness into your life. Feel free to send me a message. Have a great week!

Positively yours,

Positively Pursuing Happiness

As I mentioned above, I was interviewed for a feature in the NY Times about the pursuit of happiness. Several people were featured, and I wanted to share my part of the interview with you here. You can also read the entire article, USA at 250 What the Pursuit of Happiness Looks Like, 250 Years In. I hope you enjoy it, and that it will encourage you to take a look at what happiness truly means to you, and what youโ€™re doing to pursue it. Thank you Jenna for a great conversation and for allowing me to talk your ear off about BTS. And Cassie for capturing some of my happy moments so beautifully.
