Happy Sunday! 🌻
The other day I was on the couch watching my Kdrama when my niece came in with the baby. They had just come home and she had obviously been sleeping the car. She walked over and put up her arms for me to pick her up. I lay back down with her on my chest, and she almost immediately fell back asleep. My niece came back in and tried to take her to put her in bed, but I waved her away and told her to leave us alone.
My Zola is a very active 2-year-old who rarely will sit very long with me, never mind lay down. So when I had the opportunity to seize this moment with her, I did. I miss the days when she would sleep on my chest and I would hate to put her in her crib. This was one of those little moments that felt incredibly huge.
As I keep working on being intentional about bringing more joy and positivity into my life, I am trying to not only create little moments, but to become more aware of the ones that happen that I used to not notice, or take for granted. The other morning I got up, made a cup of coffee and went outside with an actual magazine to read. It felt special and I am determined to do it more. Let me share more of mine, and hopefully they will inspire you to create, or notice, your own little moments.
Winning back my money on a scratch ticket, even if it’s only $2.
Finding an old card or letter from someone that was just what I needed at the time.
Having my 12-year-old nephew ask me, “so how was your day?”
Studying and doing mini puzzles with my friend at a cafe.
A catch-up phone call with my cousin.
I could go on and on. These moments are the ones that seem little at first glance, but end up being the big things that make up our lives. Start thinking of your own little moments. When we stop and realize how incredible they are, our lives begin to feel rich and joyful no matter what is happening around us.
Have a great week!
Positively Yours,
Pebbles 💜

I recently went to a wonderful, and extremely moving, exhibit called Matriarchal Strength (see below). If you happen to be on the Cape this summer, you should definitely check it out. It was held at The Cordial Eye, which is an artist space and gallery. There is also a beautiful bookstore in the space where I picked up Frequently Happy by David Larbi. It’s called Belonging Books.
The sunny cover and Frequently Happy title instantly caught my attention. It consists of four sections (winter, spring, summer, and fall), and includes 52 entries within those sections. Each entry has a poem, thoughts, and journal prompts, with space to write your own thoughts.
I wanted to share this with you because it feels like an impactful, but no-pressure way to fit more hope and joy in your life. And I love that there’s no right way to read and experience this book. It’s one to consume as you feel led. Enjoy!
