Happy Sunday! 🪴

Ok, storytime. I have been on a high and living my best life over the past week. I’ve gone to four BTS concerts (New Jersey and Foxborough) and am currently on my way to my fifth and sixth in Baltimore. The night of the second show in Foxborough I was insanely happy. I leaned over to one of my friends and said, “We are so lucky.” And I really felt that deep in my soul.

When the show ended I grabbed my things and with tears of joy in my eyes headed out with my people. We were in a rush because anyone who has ever been to Gillette Stadium knows that if you don’t time it right, you could spend hours in the parking lot trying to get home. We got to the car, I got out my keys, and that’s when I realized I didn’t have my phone. I had left it in the cup holder in front of my seat.

Now we all know how much our phones mean to us, and how connected to them we are. If we leave the house without it, most of us will turn around and go back home to get it. I thought for a brief moment that I should go back and get it, but thinking about how long that would take, I decided to just get in the car and I would figure it out later. I have been stuck in the Gillette Stadium parking lot for 2 hours before with my niece after a One Direction concert. There was no way I was going through that again, nor would I put my friends through that. So we left.

The next day one of my friends drove to Gillette Stadium with me to see if someone turned it it. I was hopeful and delusional thinking it would be sitting there in the cup holder. It was not. Then we did what we should have done first, check “Find my phone.” We discover it’s in Chelsea, and call one of our other friends, and talk about going there. We must have taken the BTS song Hooligans we were screaming the night before to heart, because seriously, what were we going to do? Lol

After a lot of back and forth, we just decide to go to the Apple store and see what my options are. I leave with a new phone, and will figure out the rest when I get to Baltimore.

I know, long story, but I wanted to share it because that day reminded me that this is what life it. It’s incredibly happy and exhilarating one moment, and disappointing, annoying, and maddening the next. Because I’m trying hard to lean into the positive side of things, I did my best to keep things in perspective. Yes, losing your phone SUUUUCCCKKKSSS!!! BUT…it could have been my keys, I could have not backed up my phone, and I could have been by myself. Both that night and the next day, I had my friends with me, we had a great lunch together, talked more about BTS, got a new phone, and now we’re headed to our happy place again.

I realize things don’t always turn out with happy endings, and I don’t say all of this to belittle the tough moments we all go through. But I would encourage you to take a deep breath, realize that one way or the other you’ll get through it, and to lean on your support system. Ups and downs are inevitable, and so is your ability to make it through.

Wishing you more ups than downs this week!

Positvely yours,

Pebbles 💜
